Take Me Out to the Ball Game....Or at Least Let Me Understand It
Providing statistics, rules, and explanations of the game of baseball.
Baseball is not boring, there I said it. It is not fast paced like basketball, or as hardcore as football, but it is a fascinating piece of art. I love baseball and have loved it for years, I played softball since I was five and played on a few boys baseball teams as well.
Baseball is a sport with many rules and statistics that play a large role in how the game is paced as well as the outcome. The rules are plentiful but meaningful and have the capacity to make or break a game in the end. The other amazing thing about baseball is that the situation changes every pitch, the pitcher usually throws around four to five pitches on average to every batter. This means that with each pitch thrown, depending on the speed, velocity, and where it is on the plate, the situation for the batter and every person on the field changes. That is what I want to talk about in my blog.
I want to transform all of you into baseball lovers, or at least develop some sort of appreciation for the game. I want to talk about statistics, explain them, and how it impacts the game. I would also like to explain the rules so the sport seems less confusing as well as not so slow, in my opinion knowing the rules of the game will help enhance the experience of watching it.
Now I will try to remain unbiased in talking about different MLB teams but I will let everyone know now, the Pittsburgh Pirates are my favorite team and you will definitely be reading more about Andrew Mccutcheon then you really wanted to. The examples of players I will use to explain the game that I love will also encompass what it means to be a good baseball player but also a good person. So....yes I will be bias I apologize in advance.
I hope to make the game of baseball easier to understand and instill a newfound sense of appreciation in those who are not already fans of the sport. Trust me I will make it exciting with plenty of pictures, videos, and the most incredible showmanship of athleticism you have ever seen for ten whole weeks.
I Promise I'm Not a Stalker, I Love You!
A blog about romantic movies and what they actually teach the audience about love
I love romantic movies, most of them that is, and they always make me feel so good after watching them. It's this sense of relief that you watched something where the average girl finds love and it is so relatable that it seems so real.
Romantic movies will always get you as well, if anyone has not seen The Fault in Our Stars, you do not yet know how many tears your body holds and how sappy of a human being you actually are. While romantic movies play on emotions and give everyone a good feeling, they are also filled with a lot of "lessons on love". Whether those lessons are useful or not is what I want to write about. Is it actually ok for a guy to follow you to half way across the country after you have broken up and are trying to start over or a girl showing up at your house after you continually told her you were uninterested. Those are just some of the examples seen in romantic movies.
While some scenes are more extreme than others I want to explore the lessons provided and give a take on how it works in successful/ healthy relationships. While yes, I am single, and yes I do not know all the answers on what it means to have a good relationship I like to think I have a pretty good grasp on reality and am not psychotic so I understand how people would want to be treated.
It is not a love advice blog, but simply analyzing romantic films and the lessons they teach as well as the portrayal of relationships that are given. So get ready for some tear jerkers but also some of the cheesiest showings of love you have ever seen.
